I have recently found out this is how my father arrived in Canada from Scotland. He never spoke to his children on how he came to be here and if mom knew she never said either. I have found his record of arrival with 8 other boys but from there I have questions. Did he have to work on a farm in the east before being sent west to Saskatoon? Where did they stay? How did they travel west? Dad was placed with a very good farm, worked hard and never returned to his homeland till ww2 broke out and he went back and did his duty and came back to Canada.
Thank you for reading and for your time. His daughter,
Bonnie
By following the link that Sarah shared below leading to the image at the top of the page, you will find all the correspondence related to Saskatchewan’s Agricultural Work Training Programs, specifically “Public School Boys; Saskatchewan Boys Training Farm RG76, volume 296, file 271918, 1922-1933, microfilm C-7845” (reference found on LAC: https://www.bac-lac.gc.ca/fra/decouvrez/immigration/documents-immigration/petits-immigres-anglais-1869-1930/guide-petits-immigres-anglais/Pages/programmes-formation-travail-agricole.aspx)
Once you have accessed the microfilm, file 271918 begins on image 1446 and continues to image 1526. If the file is continued on another film, I am not aware.

Still searching for more information. Did the BICA boys have a certain trunk like the British Home Children? Did they have records kept of their health and situations where they were placed?
Trunk
Also, did the boys come over with a specific trunk and if so, what did it look like?
