Scanning & Digitization
Scanning and digitization protect your photos from damage, save space, and make sharing easier. Organizing photos before scanning streamlines the process and improves digital organization. Use appropriate resolutions for high-quality scans: 300-600 dpi for prints, 1200-2400 for small black-and-white prints, and 2400-4800 dpi for slides/negatives. Digitized collections preserve memories, enhance accessibility, and enable creative projects like books or slideshows.

Now you have an additional layer of protection for your collection of photos.
The backup plan
Now you have 2 copies of your collection.
- The physical version which is susceptible to loss through disasters and damage
- The digital version, an external hard drive or USB which is susceptible to computer/hardware breakdown
We suggest adding 1 more layer:
- An extra hard drive off site or
- A cloud-based back up
