Passenger Booklet pages from Empress of Scotland crossing to Quebec City in June 1930
When I was eleven my family emigrated to Canada. We travelled on the Empress of England from Liverpool to Montreal. I believe we left England on April 28th and arrived in Canada on May 6th 1964, It was the most wonderful, exciting adventure and was the first of many for me. After immigration we boarded the train for the trip of a lifetime across Canada to West Vancouver where I was to do my growing up. Can you imagine going from the life of a kid in the middle of Manchester, England in 1964 to the life I led in Canada with sailboats and skiing and ice skating. As I said before, this trip was the first adventure of many for me. It put the travel bug in my blood and now at 71 years of age, I am planning another trip to cross the Sahara, again. I would love to hear of others who crossed to a new life as I did. I am also trying to find a passenger list for this trip, should anyone have one.
Thank you for listening.
Olwyn.
