F.B. McCurdy & Co. is a company of Stock Brokers based in Halifax and listed as Stock Brokers in Lovell's directory found on the BaNQ website (Bibliotheque et Archives Nationales du Quebec).
In 1918-1919, A. Powser is identified as the manager of the Montreal branch.
In 1919-1920, their ad states: "Dealers in Investment Securities. Stocks Carried on Margin." They had offices in Halifax and Sydney, Nova Scotia; St. John, New Brunswick; Montreal and Sherbrooke, Quebec; and St. John's, Newfoundland.
Fleming Blanchard McCurdy, the financier and presumably the founder of the Stock Brokerage, was involved in the creation of Nova Scotia Clay Works in 1910.
From 1911 to 1921 the Honorable Fleming Blanchard McCurdy served as Member of Canadian Parliament representing first Shelburne and Queen's and later Colchester, promoting the interests of the Maritimes.
